14 SIP contestants clinch awards in skill competition

Fourteen people from SIP were declared winners in the Fourth Suzhou Skills Championship on Nov 26. Of them, six won the title of “Suzhou Skill Champion” along with a money award of RMB 50,000 and a series of privileges granted by Suzhou government to “model workers” who demonstrate an exemplary role in their lines of work.  
 
The skill competition was part of the four-day Fourth Skilled Talents Week of Suzhou that concluded on the day. A total of 373 enterprise employees and students, including 27 from SIP, competed in different rivalries classified by occupation, and 10 finally emerged as “Suzhou Skill Champions”.
 
“The event provided good opportunities for the contestants to exchange skills with their peers,” said Zhang Wenbing, deputy general manager of Suzhou Samsung Display Co Ltd which garnered the “Award for Contribution to Highly-skilled Talent Cultivation”. 
 
SIP authorities, which have been trying hard over the past years to attract and cultivate highly-skilled talents, announced to give rewards to the winners from SIP and their employers and coaches.
