iMotion, an SIP-based auto-driving solution supplier boasting a series of industry-leading core algorithms for autonomous vehicles, is drawing wide attention home and abroad with its fast development.

Started out in SIP’s SISPARK in 2016, the company has built up a strong technical team composed of top-notch professionals on automatic driving and smart technologies, and raised about RMB 100 million in Series A funding last year. Besides, it operates one R&D center in Suzhou, China and one in Brücken, Germany as well as a wholly-owned auto electronics manufacturing base, and it is a partner of Mobileye, a global leader in vision technology for autonomous driving, and German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), one of the world’s largest nonprofit contract research institutes for software technology based on AI methods. All of this has laid a solid foundation for its fast development.
“We currently focus on partial automation at Level 2 and 2.5, where vehicles can assist with steering or acceleration functions and allow the drivers to disengage from some of their tasks, and strive for Level 4 and 5 automation for totally unmanned driving,” said Lu Yukun, CTO of the company.

On the other hand, the company has been trying to yield low-cost but high-performance products. Its smart front camera for Level 2 automation costs less than RMB 1,000, much lower than the prices of products of similar kind.

“We take into account the complicated traffic environments in different cities across the country to offer customers different auto-driving solutions. Our goal is to become a leader in the Chinese autonomous vehicle market,” Lu said.
