SIP Customs, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has received wide acclaims from both superior authorities and local enterprises for its ever-improving services.

Founded in May 1999 under the approval of the State Council, SIP Customs had handled cases worth US$ 49.21 billion of imports and exports and reviewed 1.3896 million customs declarations by the end of 2018, according to the latest statistics. Its high service efficiency has won it a long list of accolades from the superior authorities.

The achievements should be attributed to SIP Customs’ continuous efforts in reform and innovation. Over the past 20 years, SIP Customs has been a forerunner in piloting advanced customs service concepts and modes. It is the first customs office adopting electronic accounts for on-line supervision of processing trade, a pioneer in a series of innovative services for bonded trade, trade diversification and cross-border e-business, and a pacesetter in opening-up and innovation.

The efforts are motivated by SIP Customs’ consistent pursue for better services for enterprises. It has been trying its utmost to give the enterprises seeking its services a leg up in their trade activities. For example, it has been simplifying customs inspection procedures and expanding its e-services to save enterprises both time and cost. A recent report said these measures enabled customs clearance for exports to be finished within 1.86 hours and that for imports within 47.16 hours last year.

Based on the achievements, SIP Customs said it will make greater efforts to further improve its services and contribute more to local economic development.
