A group of officials led by Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, had a meeting with Kent Kost, president of Roche Diagnostics’ Operations Division, and his contingent on Apr 17.

The Swiss healthcare company inaugurated Roche Diagnostics (Suzhou) in SIP last October. The project, with a total investment of US$ 299 million, is claimed as Roche’s first manufacturing and R&D base in the Asian-Pacific region, specializing in research, development and production of diagnostic reagents used in immunological and biochemical detections for treatment of tumors, metabolic disorders and cardiovascular, hepatic and infectious diseases.

At the meeting, Wu gave the guests a specific introduction to SIP authorities’ efforts in bettering local business environment. He hopes Roche can bring more projects to the area in the future.

Kent Kost congratulated SIP on its 25th anniversary and gave high comments on the local pro-business policies and services. He said Roche expects an expansion in the area as well as more support from the local authorities.
