With the goal of becoming a world-class high-tech park, SIP has been endeavoring over the past 25 years to form a cluster of top-notch businesses and research institutes.

SIP is now home to a multitude of leading enterprises such as China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group Co Ltd, a Sino-Singaporean joint venture dedicated to SIP’s development and operation, SAM (Suzhou), a Singaporean-funded manufacturer of aircraft components and parts, and Philips Healthcare (Suzhou), a medical imaging and healthcare equipment development and manufacturing branch of globally renowned Dutch technology company Philips. The enterprises have gained a strong development in SIP thanks to the potent support from the local authorities.

Moreover, SIP has gathered a number of best-in-class research institutes that have made remarkable contributions to local social and economic development. Among them are NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute, a research arm of National University of Singapore (NUS), Oxford Suzhou Centre for Advanced Research, Oxford’s first overseas physical science and engineering research facility, and Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Suzhou Institute of Nano-tech and Nano-bionics which owns the world’s largest multifunctional nanoscience and nanotech research platform Nano-X.

Based on the achievements, SIP is trying to explore more innovative ways to expand economic opening-up and accelerate integration of various innovation resources in the area to achieve a more prosperous development in the future.
