The headquarters building of Positec Group, a manufacturer of power tools and lawn and garden equipment, is one of the landmark projects in SIP. It was awarded the LEED-NC Platinum, the highest level of distinction awarded by the US Green Building Council, on June 23, 2017.
The honor stems in a large part from the building’s environment-friendly design, along with operational sustainability and supporting occupant wellness. With a total floor area of over 20,000 sqm, it boasts a series of advanced energy-saving systems for air conditioning, power generation and resource recycling.
The building roof is covered by 3,500-m3 photovoltaic panels that can supply power to the building for at least four months each year.
The building is also equipped with a rainwater collection system that can store, filter and sterilize rainwater for irrigation and toilet and road cleaning.
Moreover, there are also a ground-source heat pump system and a waste heat recovery system for energy saving, and a real-time monitoring system for timely regulation of energy consumption at different parts of the building.
