Wu Qingwen, secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, and his contingent visited Philips Healthcare (Suzhou) Co Ltd and Yang Peidong Skyline Innovation Center on July 4 for a survey on the enterprises' latest moves in innovation.

At Philips Healthcare, the medical imaging and healthcare equipment development and manufacturing arm of globally renowned Dutch technology company Philips, the officials listened to the expositions of the company's operations and innovation and visited its labs and R&D center for a better understanding of that. During the visit, they learnt that the company has over 300 R&D personnel who account for more than 50% of its total staff.

At Yang Peidong Skyline Innovation Center which was founded by Chinese-American chemist and material scientist Yang Peidong in collaboration with SIP Administrative Committee and two local research institutes, the officials gained an all-around understanding of the center's scientific research projects and information and resource sharing platforms.
