Over the recent few years, SIP has made remarkable achievements in industrial transformation and upgrading, which cannot be separated from the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the area.

It is widely known that SIP has a high tech cluster called SISPARK, which, with a land area of 200,000 sqm, is currently home to nearly 200 enterprises engaged in AI and related sectors. Moreover, an expansion is just around the corner following the recent opening of the Phase VII project of the cluster.

So far, SISPARK has shown conspicuous agglomeration effect, which has led to the boom of cutting-edge technologies covering hardware and software, cloud computing, big data, AI, virtual reality and augmented reality. These technologies have laid a solid foundation for the industrial transformation and upgrading in SIP, especially in manufacturing, which plays a big part in the local economy.

It is learnt that more than half of the manufacturing enterprises above designated size in SIP have adopted smart production lines and management systems to save costs and improve production efficiency. In addition, SIP High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone has taken initial shape, with nearly 400 high-end manufacturing enterprises. This enabled SIP to see a total industrial output of RMB426.8 billion last year.
