Jousing Medical Technology (Suzhou) Co Ltd in SIP lately received government approval for marketing its Jousing AED, China's first domestically developed automated external defibrillator. The product is expected to help significantly reduce deaths caused by sudden cardiac arrest, which results in about 540,000 deaths in the country each year, including 90% due to lack of effective out-of-hospital treatment.

According to Sun Jianyan, the company's general manager, the easy-to-operate portable first-aid device can automatically check heart rhythm through a wearable electrode slice and report it to the users who, in case of emergencies, can follow the device's voice instructions and light indications to help the heart restore a normal rhythm.

"The low-power biphasic waveform defibrillation technology applied to the product will help minimize myocardial damage caused by electric shocks, and we will continue to work on it to provide better defibrillation solutions," Sun added.
