The inauguration ceremony for Samsung University of Science and Technology (SUST), a school jointly founded by SIP Industrial Engineers Technicians Association (SIPIETA), Suzhou Vocational University (SVU) and Samsung Suzhou LCD Co., Ltd. (SSL), took place in SSL's Talent Development Center Wednesday. The signing ceremony for new apprenticeship system vocational education cooperation was staged at the same time.

Witnessed by all the guests present, the leaders from company, university and association signed on the Memorandum of Cooperation. The experts on the curriculum reform team and the first batch of part-time lecturers from the company received their employment certificates.

That enterprises play a part in and lead the reform of modern vocational education is the essence of new apprenticeship system vocational education.

The cooperation will take into full consideration the apprenticeship systems in Germany, USA and Australia and companies' actual demand for the qualifications of technical personnel. It will also initiate a series of cooperation modes to train modern vocational and technical personnel.

SUST grew out of the SSL Talent Development Center set up in May, 2013, which has so far developed into the combination of LCD Technology Research Institute, Elite Leadership Institute, Institute of International Humanities and Relations, Technical Training and Skill Appraisal Center, Lecturer Training Camp, and the Institute of New Apprenticeship System Vocation Education.

The establishment of SUST is a historic step that SSL has taken on the way to building a super first class enterprise university. SUST will provide talent guarantee for the operation, transformation and upgrading of enterprises and companies.
