Suzhou Changtu Network Technology Co., Ltd. recently announced Mewfi, a portable Wi-Fi hardware that can be used all over the world. Weighing only 114 grams, the palm-sized device can transform the 3G or 4G network signals in different countries and regions into Wi-Fi hotspots and provide users with safe, stable and rapid Wi-Fi signals.

As an increasing number of Chinese travel abroad, many of them have encountered the predicament of difficult or expensive internet access while they were abroad. A survey shows that "no portable Wi-Fi" is the biggest pain point to tourists when they try to get local information.

In the eyes of Yang Yulong, CEO of Changtu Network, "Where there is a pain point, there is a business opportunity." Now many tourists cannot do without the web when they book flight tickets, search for travel tips or transportation routes for their overseas trips. "Portable Wi-Fi makes it possible to access the Internet anywhere anytime because it is easy to use, sharable and low-cost, and it has become a necessary communication tool for outbound tourists," he said.

Changtu Network launched Mewfi, the globally applicable portable Wi-Fi, after three years of R&D efforts. "This product can use virtual SIM card patented technology to switch to local operator's network whenever needed via the servers positioned across the globe. It has realized global roaming in the true sense of the word," said Yang.

According to Yang, Mewfi is now literally capable of operating independently from SIM card through cooperation with overseas local operators.

Up to present, Changtu Network has established in-depth cooperation with nearly 200 operators in over 110 countries and regions so that this convenient service will further go global.
