Up to August 6, 2015, the number of companies registered in Suzhou Industrial Park Local Taxation Bureau hit the record-high 40,044, meaning that in each square kilometer in SIP nearly 140 opened for business.

The top three industries with the largest number of registered companies are: the wholesale and retail industry (13,022 companies), the leasing and commercial service industry (8,131 companies), and the manufacturing industry (5,989 companies). It shows that the secondary industry and the tertiary industry in SIP are in good momentum of balanced and simultaneous development, and that SIP's industrial policy for accelerating the development of the tertiary industry with the commercial service sector as the leading factor has achieved noteworthy results.

With the in-depth implementation of various reforms, particularly the reform of commercial system, to streamline procedures for administrative examination and approval, to shorten the procedure-handling time limit, and to improve the governmental departments' working efficiency, have become the common understanding of the whole society. SIP Local Taxation Bureau, by sticking to the registration reform system and implementing "three in one" business license and "one license, one code" policies, will further streamline examination and approval system, optimize tax service and improve working efficiency to support "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" and regional economic development.
