Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), a cooperative university founded in SIP by China’s Xi’an Jiaotong University and the UK’s University of Liverpool in 2006, has been sticking to the strategy of cultivating talents for the future, namely talents with global competitiveness in their fields.
To put the strategy into substantial practice, the school pays high attention to guiding its students to engage themselves in active and research-oriented learning other than passive learning, thus preparing them for lifelong learning and future careers.
On the other hand, the school has been perfecting its curricula based on global talent demands. In one move, XJTLU is planning to offer at its Entrepreneurs College in Taicang a set of new courses on data science, robotics, smart manufacturing, Internet of Things, supply chain management and art and technology to cultivate elites in the fields.
At the same time, the school encourages its students to pursue personalized development based on self-management, keep an open and creative mind, equip themselves with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, and take social and environmental responsibilities as well. It believes this can help its students better cope with challenges in the future.
