Initiated by SIP Working Committee on Women and Children and organized by SIP Colored Stones Youth Development Center, a sex education program targeting youngsters aged 6 and below was launched at SIP Youth & Children Center on Apr 28.

The program is an expansion of a pilot program carried out in SIP’s Dongshahu sub-district last year in an attempt to help local young children acquire a better understanding of human growth, development and sexuality as well as teach them methods of protecting themselves from sex harassment and abuse.

The program reportedly will tour to 100 communities, 12 public kindergartens and a number of enterprises. On the schedule are distribution of 10,000 handouts to offer guidance for parents to give sex education to their children, 200 lectures and picture-book-based activities devised for children, over 30 training sessions for parents and teachers, and on-line expert consultancy.
