In a recent review meeting where 51 experts and scholars from different departments at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) served as jurors, 27 research projects at the school gained the chance for a slice of the school's RMB 120 million financial support.

The projects, in categories of prospective study projects, application technology study projects and research finding commercialization projects, are expected to drive great changes in AI, big data and other high-tech sectors.

For example, a project studying empathetic leadership behaviors received the highest score in the evaluation of prospective study projects for its potential in bringing about innovative leadership approaches. Another one focuses on AI chips that are believed to be excellent solutions for smart household appliances.
