SIP Industrial Technical School (SIPITS) was declared one of the "Excellent Schools" at the 6th Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Awards (hereinafter referred to as Huang Yanpei Awards) ceremony held in Beijing on Dec 28, 2018. Before that, the school's president Wang Naiguo garnered the "Excellent School President" award at the 4th Huang Yanpei Awards in 2014.

The Huang Yanpei Awards, named after renowned Chinese educationist Huang Yanpei (1878-1965), was initiated in 2007 to commend individuals and organizations with outstanding contributions to personalized vocational education that Huang advocated.

SIPITS won the award for its innovative teaching modes and elaborately devised courses that enable its students to acquire good occupational skills and develop a creative mind.
