Jointly hosted by Chinese Society for Cell Biology (CSCB) and EMBO (European Molecular Biology Organization), the 1st CSCB-EMBO Young Investigator Conference themed "Tissue Regeneration and Tumorigenesis" kicked off at Jinji Lake Grand Hotel, SIP on Nov 22 and will last till Nov 24. The event aims to facilitate exchange and collaboration between global young investigators in the field of biomedicine.

At the event, Chen Yeguang, president of CSCB and professor at Tsinghua University, gave the attendees a specific introduction to CSCB which, according to him, has seven committees and 18 subsidiary societies dedicated to promoting academic exchange and collaboration in cell biology study and application.

Gerlind Wallon, deputy director of EMBO, a European organization with nearly 2,000 globally leading life scientists engaged in promoting excellence in the life sciences, gave a detailed account of the organization's objectives and its Young Investigator Programme designed to identify and support the best young researchers in the life sciences.
