Recently, the ceremony of the 2018 Suzhou Mayor's Awards for Youths' Science and Technology Innovation was held at SIP Youth & Children Center. Xu Shihang, a student from SIP Industrial Technical School (SIPITS), was declared one of 10 winners for his creative design of an automatic brake fluid renewing system. His teacher and school received awards, too. It was the fourth straight year that the school scooped the awards.

The system, consisting of two 40-cm inflators along with pneumatic valves and pipes, employs high-pressure air source to press new fluid in and push the old one out. The whole process takes about 10 min, in comparison with 30 min in the traditional way that typically needs two people to finish in collaboration.

Xu said his idea to make such a system was inspired by his experience as an intern at a 4S store. He hopes it can be widely used to save more people time and efforts.
