Qian Yuqing, a Suzhou calligraphist and chairman of SIP Calligraphers Association (SIPCA), and several other SIPCA members visited Chefang Experimental Primary School on Sept 13. The visit is one of a series of efforts to increase the public's interest in and knowledge of traditional Chinese calligraphy.

The visitors first toured around the school, gaining a better understanding of its development and its programs as a local calligraphy training base for youngsters. Then they exchanged opinions and skills with the teachers and students in the school's calligraphy club.

Qian also created a calligraphic work for the school, expressing his hope for continuous progress of calligraphy education in the school.
