SIP holds conference on education

SIP authority convened a conference on Sept 7, ahead of China's Teachers' Day that is celebrated annually on Sept 10, looking back on the outcomes in education development over the past few years and making deployment for future moves.

Based on a series of earlier visits to several local schools, Wu Qingwen, secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, gave a detailed account of SIP's achievements in education, including those in financial and policy support for schools and talent training programs, reform of teaching modes and expansion of teachers' team. Particularly, he underlined the significance of education to economic and social development, and expected to see a stronger education development in the future.

Apart from that, representatives from several primary and middle schools, universities and research institutes made reports on their work, and a number of organizations and individuals received awards for their contributions to education.
