SIP hosts meeting to drive investment in Turkey

SIP hosted a meeting on Sept 27 to introduce Turkey’s investment environment and expound on local policies and services designed to drive overseas investment under  the country’s Belt and Road Initiative that is designed to connect the East Asian and European economic circles for win-win cooperation. SIP Administrative Committee Deputy Director Xia Fang and Sabri Tunc Angili, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Shanghai, were present.
 
According to Sabri Tunc Angili, Turkey now is home to about 1,000 Chinese-invested plants and receives nearly 400,000 Chinese tourists each year. In his speech at the event, he expressed expectations for further breakthroughs in investment from Chinese investors. 
 
Xia also spoke at the event, revealing that 309 SIP-based enterprises had launched 476 projects in 53 countries and regions by the end of last year, including 179 in 22 countries and regions covered by the Belt and Road Initiative. She also disclosed that SIP is exploring innovative administrative services for fast registration of overseas investment projects.
