Suzhou delegation visits Singapore and Indonesia for further cooperation

A Suzhou government delegation led by CPC Suzhou Committee Secretary Zhou Naixiang visited Singapore and Indonesia lately and made fruitful achievements in enhancing cooperation between Suzhou and the two countries in business and trade, science and technology innovation and other areas.

In Singapore, the delegation met with Teo Chee Hean, Singapore’s Senior Minister, Indranee Thurai Rajah, minister in the Singaporean Prime Minister’s Office, and other Singaporean officials and discussed details about enhancing cooperation and exchange in the future. 

The delegation also visited the Embassy of China in Singapore where they expressed thanks for the embassy’s long-term support for Suzhou’s development, and National University of Singapore and SSTD (also known as Singaporean Consortium, a driving force behind the SIP project) and several other Singaporean companies to seek expansion of partnerships with them.

In Indonesia, the delegation attended the Unveiling Ceremony of Ketapang Industrial Cooperative Park Indonesia Suzhou, an industrial park built by Chinese-funded enterprises in Indonesia’s capital Jakarta, and the signing ceremony for a smart home industrial park to be erected in Suzhou Xushuguan Economic Development Zone and 10 projects to be launched in the park as well as the signing ceremony for Suzhou New District (Huqiu District) and Ketapang County to establish friendship as sister cities. 

Moreover, the delegation visited Sinar Mas Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Indonesia, and several other Indonesian enterprises, discussing with the enterprises’ executives future plans for tightening partnerships based on China’s Belt and Road Initiative. 

The delegation also visited a number of local industrial clusters for a survey, and Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia where they attended a symposium with the executives of several of the chamber’s enterprise members.
