China Association for Geographic Information Society recently announced the list of winners of the"2018 Awards for Geographic Information Technology Advancements". SIP Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation Co Ltd, a company under SIP-based comprehensive real estate developer Sungent Group, clinched the second place for its advanced 3D laser point cloud processing technology.

According to the company, they started the study on the technology and its application in rural mapping and surveying projects in 2015, and the results indicate that the technology can help avoid problems caused by inconsistency between huge data acquisition and processing during mobile surveys and therefore improve work efficiency and reduce costs.

The company said the application of the technology in the mapping and surveying projects in SIP and cities of other provinces has demonstrated remarkable economic benefits.
