SIP held a working conference on healthcare on Feb 6 to mobilize the staff in healthcare field to make concerted efforts to tackle hard issues and open up a new prospect. At the meeting, the work in 2016 was summarized and the work for 2017 was assigned.

In the past year, comprehensive medical reform and annual task were completed. The outpatient and emergency departments of all medical institutions in SIP treated 6.2959 million person/times and did free physical examination for 86,000 person/times.

SIP passed appraisal test as a provincial-level demonstration zone on health emergency standardization and built Suzhou municipal serum (gene) bank in cooperation with Suzhou Health and Family Planning Commission. It also completed and put into use SIP Public Health Center with 200 million yuan investment, put into soft opening Jiuling Nursing Home, an institution entrusted to Xinghu Hospital, which integrates medical treatment and health maintenance and ensured such construction project as Dushu Lake Hospital in smooth progress.

In 2017, more active work, in accordance with the requirement for healthcare reform, will be done to accelerate implementation of key healthcare programs, to issue action plans for improving medical and health service and incentive measures for cultivating qualified personnel, to construct medical consortium and smart healthcare system, and to implement people-oriented healthcare system, so as to gradually shape up a healthcare service system with advanced facilities, complete functions, complementary advantages and coordinated development.
