SIP Holds 2016 Working Conference on Investment Promotion

Suzhou Industrial Park held 2016 working conference on investment promotion at Modern Building on the afternoon of July 1 to sum up the work in the first six months of this year, and to clarify the targets and tasks of the rest of the year. Present at the meeting were Wang Xiang, Standing Committee Member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, SIP Administrative Committee leaders Yang Zhiping, Sun Yanyan, Xia Fang, Huang Haitao, and Ding Lixin, and relevant leaders of investment promotion working group. Members of CSSD Investment Promotion Department, CBD Investment Promotion Center, and Science & Technology Development Center spoke at the meeting.

Investment promotion went smoothly during the first five months of the year, and 156 foreign-funded projects were introduced into SIP with newly registered capital of 136 million USD, covering the fields of medical care and pharmaceutical, electronic and information, equipment manufacturing, new energy, and finance. The investment promotion departments in SIP have adhered to the pro-business concept in rendering good service to enterprises, coordinated with the construction and operation of major projects, conducted a series of trainings to build an efficient promotion team, improved the management system and work procedure, and pushed forward the IT program.

For the next stage of work, SIP will promote the second-phase investment and explore the mechanism for transformation and upgrading of foreign-invested enterprises, tap the inherent enterprise potentials, improve both quality and efficiency, enhance resource integration, promote the blending of overseas and domestic innovation, and help enterprises in building up adequate functions by means of capital market. Renewed efforts will be made to open up new sources of investment projects in advanced manufacturing, technological R&D of new emerging industries, and modern service.
