Wang Xiang Reviews Industry & Commerce Administration Reform

Wang Xiang, Standing Committee member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC Suzhou Industrial Park Working Committee, went to SIP Administration for Industry and Commerce on the morning of October 31 learning the results of its registration reform.

To provide better service to public and private businesses, SIP Administration for Industry and Commerce introduced a series of reform initiatives during the past few years to streamline process and to improve work efficiency. In 2014, the office registered 6,158 new private businesses with registered capital of 28.16 billion yuan in total, increasing by 103.9% and 180.5% over the previous year. The numbers of name applications and approvals increased by 97.7% and 104.6% to 19,795 and 9,313. SIP Administration for Industry and Commerce processed 125 cases with total value of 12.1 million yuan, accepted and handled 5,800 complaints, and helped consumers recover over 3-million-yuan losses.

The local Party leader recognized the results of reform, pointing out that 2014 was the first year and "a crucial year" for industry and commerce registration system reform. With the change of administrative duties of food supervision, the office also has to deal with the result of adjustments made to the system. Wang communicated his observations made during the inspection tour and praised the bureau for keeping up with the standards, the good team work and work style, the contributions to SIP's sustainable economic development, and the initiatives of negative list management on foreign capital, annual report disclosure, and parallel examination and approval procedures.

Wang Xiang urged the officials to understand the significance of system reform, to learn and to apply the policies, to have a big picture in mind, to work hard, and to make more contributions so that SIP is able to realize "innovation-based development and breakthrough in reform".
