On the morning of August 27, the fifth supervision team of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee toured several companies in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). The participating officials included Wang Xiang, Standing Committee Member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, Chairman Zhu Zhengrong of Suzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Deputy Chief Li Huafang of fire control at Suzhou Fire Department, Yu Caigen, member of CPC SIP Working Committee, as well as heads of SIP Administrative Committee Office, SIP Work Safety Bureau, SIP Police Department, and SIP Fire Department.

The team went to the workshops and warehouses of ITW Speedline Equipment (Suzhou), Schneider (Suzhou) Drives, and Knowles Electronics (Suzhou), asking about their measures of processing and dust management and urging them to make immediate rectifications on loose ends, such as in the management of the flammable and the explosives, the arrangement of safety equipment and devices, and the staff awareness of production safety.

Ramatex (Suzhou) is engaged in textile material production and fabric printing and dyeing, producing large amount of cotton dust in the process. SIP Safe Production Supervision & Management Bureau has sent inspectors several times looking into problems of dust. And the bureau also shut down the aluminum polishing procedure of VDL Enabling Technologies (Suzhou). "Cotton dust is flammable and you should follow the rules and instructions about dust prevention and removal, fire control, and guard against possible explosions," said Wang Xiang.

After the workshop tour, the inspectors sat down listening to the briefing on safety management made by managers of Ascendas-Xinsu. Among 40 businesses contracted by Ascendas-Xinsu (Suzhou), most are foreign enterprises. Wang Xiang recognized their work in safety management and urged them to take the responsibilities of the "landlord" and ensure safe production of all the "tenants".
