On the morning of July 19, Wang Xiang, Standing Committee Member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC Suzhou Industrial Park Working Committee, chaired a meeting reviewing the results of "democratic life meeting", assigning tasks for next stage, and making democratic appraisal. The participants included the heads of provincial and municipal supervision teams, CPC working committee and administrative committee leaders, as well as chiefs of SIP departments and offices.

At the democratic life meeting held in July 11, SIP officials studied the series of important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee, made criticisms and self-criticisms on clean and honest governance, the struggle against formalism, bureaucratism, hedonism, and extravagance, serving the people, checking for four problems of departure from the realities and the masses, of being irresponsible and seeking quick success, of being proud and complacent, and of being extravagant and wasteful.

Wang Xiang made a report on the democratic life meeting, saying that the meeting was the key to the study and practice of the Party's "mass line". "Before the meeting, we collected public opinions on our work style, examined and analyzed existing problems, and did a lot of work in preparation for the meeting." At the meeting, each member of the working committee made a speech on the problems they found and the corrections they would make.

Jin Ming, the head of the second supervision team of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, recognized the results of the democratic life meeting. It was the first step to identify the problems, he said, and the second step was to correct them. "Criticism and self-criticism is a powerful weapon helping the leaders to find and solve the problems in their work. By studying and carrying out the mass line and with a brand new work style, SIP will make new progresses in construction and development."
