On the afternoon of April 3, officials and cadres of Suzhou Industrial Park labor unions gathered at conference hall learning the resolutions adopted at the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee. They also reviewed their previous work and discussed the tasks in 2014. The participants included Huang Jiyue, deputy secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee and deputy director of SIP Administrative Committee, and Feng Jianlin, member of CPC SIP Working Committee and chief of organization and HR.

There are at present 5,052 labor unions in SIP with total members of 520,000. In 2013, the authority organized various skill contests for 100,000 people to show their professional talents, issued guidelines on wages after negotiating with labor and capital, awarded 106 companies with harmonious labor-capital relationship, and constructed online library for corporate staff. As a result, SIP was named top three labor unions in Suzhou.

In 2014, SIP authority planed to further consolidate labor-capital harmony, to serve labors, to explore the potentials of labor unions, and to contribute more to local economy.

Huang Jiyue said labor unions played an important role in promoting economic sustainability and in creating harmonious society. "This year is a key for SIP to deepen reforms," he said. "Our task is to streamline our organization and to serve people. More importantly, we should follow the directions of the Party."
