2022 China Biotech Innovation Conference (CBIC)

The 2022 CBIC kicked off synchronously at Beijing, capital of China, and SIP, Suzhou on Nov 3 via video link, bringing together a number of professionals engaged in biomedical technology innovation and representatives from renowned biotech enterprises.

Themed “Deepening Integration of Science and Technology and Economic Development to Build High-level Industrial Innovation Clusters”, the event was designed to facilitate exchanges and cooperation for faster and more fruitful innovation of biotechnology.

Zhan Qimin, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), dean of International Cancer Institute of Peking University and dean of Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University, Tan Tianwei, an academician at the CAE and president of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Lu Lin, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of Peking University Sixth Hospital and president of Shandong First Medical University, gave keynote speeches.

At the event, the China National Center for Biotechnology Development (CNCBD) released the 2022 Report on Evaluation and Analysis of Competitiveness of China’s Biomedical Industrial Parks, and gave an introduction to the think tank it is building for biotech development.

The event is of great significance for SIP where the biomedical industry is one of the “emerging industries of strategic significance for future development” and more than 2,000 biotech companies are giving full play to their strengths to strive for a leading role in their fields.
