Shopping festival in Suzhou opens a wider market for local products

The Double 12 Shopping Suzhou is helping introduce many local products to nationwide and even global consumers.

Many of the e-commerce platforms have launched special modules to sell products from Suzhou. For example, at Taobao, Alibaba’s online shopping platform, there is the “Suzhou Fair”, and at the online platform of 34580.com, a Suzhou-based O2O (online-to-offline) fresh food supplier, there is the “Suzhou Farmers’ Market”.

Other on- and off-line promotional activities have also attracted a large number of shoppers from outside Suzhou. For example, a Spring Festival fair will kick off at SIP’s Hudong Neighborhood Center on Jan 23, 2021, and concurrently, a live-stream marketing campaign on popular Chinese short video platform TikTok will start to promote products with Suzhou characteristics. Besides, diverse cultural and tourist products have won the favor of many people from outside Suzhou.
