SIP strives to drive high-quality development of cultural industry

The Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China together with several other state authorities recently announced the “2019-2020 List of Major Cultural Exporters and Major Cultural Export Projects of China”. On the list are 32 enterprises from East China’s Jiangsu province, including six in SIP. All the six companies, namely Friend Times, Snail Digital Technology, ORI Animation, Papergames, Xianfeng Network Technologies and iClockwork, won the title of “Major Cultural Exporter of China”, while Papergames’ mobile game “Miracle Niki” was declared a “Major Cultural Export Project of China”.
The achievements should be partly attributed to SIP’s all-around implementation of the “culture-driven development” strategy which is helping continuously stimulate local consumption of cultural products and services. Statistics show that the total operating income of 159 SIP-based cultural enterprises above designated size reached RMB 30.617 billion from January to June, up 28.13% year-on-year.

Being one of the country’s forerunners in opening-up, SIP encourages cultural export, and the local authorities are giving local cultural enterprises strong support in their overseas development. Besides, a series of programs have been launched to introduce and incubate new types of cultural businesses to further perfect the local cultural business ecosystem.
