The 2017 iSING! Suzhou International Young Artists Festival, which was once held in Suzhou in 2014, kicked off again in the city on July 24 and will last till August 29. The event has attracted 43 young singers from 15 countries, and 13 world famous opera experts and music professors have been invited to give performances and share their expertise. It encompasses training sessions and performances, including singing lectures, visits and related activities as well as two concerts. The event is designed to offer an opportunity for young singers to better understand eastern and western cultures and pursue higher artistic accomplishments.

iSING! summer concert staged at Suzhou Museum


As one of a series of activities of the 2017 iSING! Suzhou International Young Artists Festival, the "Puccini Fest" Summer Concert was staged at Suzhou Museum, a famous landmark building in Suzhou, on August 5. The audience were treated to the fantastic singing performances by 20 Chinese and foreign young singers.

There was an outdoor show before the indoor concert in the lecture hall of museum. The Chinese and foreign singers jointly performed songs like The Moon Represents My Heart and The Toasting Song, drawing prolonged applause from the visitors who happened to be present.

During the concert, the singers performed episodes from La Bohème and Madama Butterfly among other classic operas by Giacomo Puccini, a groundbreaking Italian composer, amazing the audience.

A brief account of the operas and related culture was given before each performance to help the audience better enjoy the concert.
