Anne-Sophie Mutter: The Genetics of the Orchestra is Positive

Anne-Sophie Mutter, dubbed as the greatest violin talent since Yehudi Menuhin, was invited to play Carmen Fantasy and Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 28 with the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra at the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra Inaugural Concert on December 31st.

"The genetics of the Orchestra is positive", Mutter speaks highly of the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra. "With different cultural background, the cultural exchanges between the players will contribute to the training of the Orchestra".

Mutter has been playing violin on the international stage for more than 40 years. Her excellent skills and her enthusiasm to the music left deep impressions to the orchestra members.

"Ms. Mutter has been my idol since I got in touch with the violin," said Gu Chen, the concertmaster of the Orchestra, adding that he was so glad to cooperate with Mutter. "I used to believe that the performing skill of a player will be weaker as he gets older, but Ms. Mutter’s performance is completely opposite to what in my mind."

Chen Xieyang, the conductor of the Orchestra, said they had a pleasant cooperation with each other. "Ms. Mutter is a talented violin player who is full of enthusiasm and has a wonderful personality." Chen said.

Having witnessed the development of classical music, Mutter has her own vision about music. "Musician’s career is not about selling and good-looking, it is all about music,"Mutter said. "We should look underneath and dig the philosophy behind the classical music."
