SIP Planning and Construction Committee (SIPPCC) is making all-round efforts to ensure the start (restart) of 246 construction projects in SIP in an orderly manner amid the ongoing nationwide outbreak of the coronavirus disease known as COVID-19.

In accordance with several documents that SIPPCC issued recently, the projects will start (restart) in batches, with priorities given to those closely related to people’s livelihood and key projects in industrial and other sectors. Besides, the documents include specific measures that should be carried out at the construction sites for prevention of the epidemic.

SIPPCC staff is now visiting 35 construction sites covered in the first batch to help make preparations. The projects are expected to start (restart) successively from Feb 21, involving about 12,000 workers in total.

Moreover, five inspection teams from SIPPCC are patrolling the construction sites daily to ensure no project is launched without approval.
