Philips, a Dutch multinational conglomerate engaged in the electronics, healthcare and lighting markets, opened its service arm Philips Business Services (Suzhou) in SIP on Nov 11 to provide financial, HR, supply chain and customer services targeting the Asia-Pacific market. The new establishment marks an important step in the company’s business layout in Asia.

It is learnt that Philips has been increasing its investment in SIP in recent years. It founded a manufacturing base in SIP in 2009 to make medical devices, and invested US$ 55 million in 2010 to set up Philips Healthcare (Suzhou) Co Ltd which boasts integrated functions for R&D, procurement, production and training.

“We plan to build more advanced production lines and continuously optimize and enrich our business chain in Suzhou in the future to better support our global network,” said Sophie Bechu, chief of operations and executive vice president at Royal Philips.
