Many people passing by the widely-known “Sculpture Wall” at SIP’s old Xietang Street on the evening of Aug 17 were suddenly attracted by beautiful melody. Looking around, they found several foreign and Chinese singers were singing the famous Chinese song “On the Field of Hope”. They stopped, so enchanted by the performances that they even joined the singalong of the fourth song, “The Moon Represents My Heart”. Then they were guided to a nearby square where 10 young singers and two pianists gave a fantastic concert.

 

The concert was part of the 2019 iSING! Suzhou International Young Artists Festival which, scheduled in Suzhou from July 29 to Aug 26, has gathered 40 young artists from 16 countries to give a succession of shows and participate in a series of training and exchange events. 

 

At the concert, the performers staged a total of 21 Chinese and foreign music works, including folk and popular songs and operas, drawing thunderous applauses from the audiences.
