Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, met with Philip Lim, CEO of ETPL, the technology transfer arm of Singaporean Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and his contingent on Jan 18. The two parties discussed many details about future collaboration in science and technology innovation and intellectual property protection.

ETPL was set up in 2002 to commercialize outcomes of A*STAR's research institutes and to consolidate the research organization's patent portfolio. The ETPL executives arrived at SIP on Jan 14 for a one-week exchange trip which, organized by A*STAR, also included representatives from other 13 Singapore-based companies.

At the meeting, Wu expressed his expectations for opportunities to learn from ETPL its experience in facilitating science and technology development and protecting intellectual property rights. Lim shared his feelings about the trip, hoping to deepen cooperation with SIP in the future.
