The 2019 (10th) Lake Cup Regatta (LCR) kicked off at Jinji Lake, SIP on Oct 11. Over 200 adults and youngsters from home and abroad are scheduled to compete in the J/80, DC20 and Optimist Class races over the next three days. As the previous sessions, the event is coupled with the Suzhou International Lohas Festival to offer the racers, spectators and visitors chances to taste delicious food, enjoy art performances and experience sailing and other sports.

LCR is held on a yearly basis to popularize water sports. It has become a brand program in SIP, and is driving thriving development of boat racing skill training and related culture and business in the area.

“I love this event, and it is improving year by year, both the competition system and organization,” said Nenad, a Slovenian who, with over-50-year sailing experience, started to work in SIP in 2008 and has taken part in many of the previous sessions of LCR.
