SIP’s most sought-after scenic spots recorded 603,500 tourist arrivals during the May Day holiday from May 1 to 4, up 20.8% year-on-year, according to the local authoritative statistics.

This year’s May Day holiday extension from previous three days to four days and the recent hit TV series All is Well that was partly shot in SIP spurred people’s enthusiasm for trips in the area.

Additionally, the diversified events including art exhibitions, auto show, performances and sports games attracted a huge number of people to the area, and enabled the tourist destinations like Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block, Jinji Lake Scenic Area, Yi’oulai Suzhou Village, Suzhou Center and Shin Kong Place to see an year-on-year income increase ranging from over 70% to about 20%. 

Moreover, the convenient traffic, splendid natural and cultural landscapes and considerate tourist services in the area contributed a lot to the sharp increase of tourist arrivals during the holiday.
