The five blessings in China, namely, good fortune, ample salary, longevity, great wealth and happy life, are Chinese people's aspirations for the new year. As Chinese lunar New Year is drawing near, Suzhou Yangchenghu Peninsula Tourist Resort (YPTR) has re-defined the "five blessings" by launching a Lunar New Year Tour Package that features such five blessings as praying, riding, meditation, shopping and SPA, and photography exhibition.

Blessing I: Praying

It's a traditional folk custom in Suzhou to burn the first incense stick of the day and ring the bell to pray for blessings on the first day of the lunar New Year.

Since the first-incense burning activity was initiated in 2008, Chongyuan Temple by Yangcheng Lake has attracted hundreds and thousands of tourists and followers during the period of the event every year.

This year's incense burning and bell ringing will take place at Chongyuan Temple on Jan 28.

Blessing II: Riding

Buying a YPTR Tourist Card, you are immediately granted membership of the peninsula and entitled to discounts on various programs in the resort, including a 15 yuan deduction from car rental once a day, a free ride on round-the-lake sightseeing car once a day, an end-of-month free orienteering experience and discounts on the commodities sold in the resort and YPTR's activities.

Blessing III: Meditation

During the lunar New Year, a unique meditation tour is available at YPTR-based Chongyuan Temple and Higher Hotel Suzhou Lotus Pond, where tourists can attend meditation lessons, read and copy Buddhist scriptures. 

Blessing IV: Shopping and SPA

Yi'oulai Suzhou Village is offering a special promotion from Jan 12 to Feb 14, which allows tourists to shop for global name brands without going abroad. Shopping apart, tourists can enjoy SPA at Palace Lan Resort & Spa Yangcheng Lake Suzhou and Octave At One Wellness Hotel, etc., where the self-contained SPA equipment, professional massage and various therapy techniques can get rid of physical and mental exhaustion.

Blessing V: Photography Exhibition

The awarding ceremony for Peninsula in Snapshots Photography Competition 2016, which is also the occasion to kick off Peninsula in Light and Shade 2017, will be held in YPTR on Feb 18. Peninsula in Snapshots exhibition is already on and will last till February 2017. Photography lovers are welcome to the events.
