Suzhou Chinese Painting Institute is located in the Tingfeng (Listening to the Maples) Garden, a classic garden built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
The garden is small, but exquisite. It is free to the public.
There are two courtyards in the south and north, with ancient maple trees rustling in the wind as if they were whispering. That is why the garden is called “Listening to the Maples Garden”.
