The Cooperation Conference of Top Universities and Institutions cum Signing Ceremony for Cooperation Projects was held at Dushu Lake Convention Center on July 6, starting the “Top Universities and Institutions to Suzhou” event. Contracts on 29 projects were signed, including the CAU (Suzhou) Organic Cycle Research Institute, a cooperative project between Suzhou People’s Government and China Agricultural University (CAU). Fourteen cooperative projects, including Jiangsu Huachang New Functional Materials Research Institute and BUAA (Changshu) Smart Hardware Innovation Park, were inaugurated.

Scholars and experts from top-class education and research institutions visit Suzhou


The 2017 (China) Jiangsu Cooperation Conference of Top Universities and Institutions cum the 6th Fair of Industry-University-Institution Cooperation Outcomes was held in Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province, on July 5. A number of scholars and experts who had been present at the event visited Suzhou on July 6 and witnessed the signing ceremony for a variety of cooperative projects.

 

The event offered an opportunity for deepening cooperation between top-class education and research institutions and Suzhou as well as concentrating resources for innovation and development of high-tech industries and strategic emerging industries in Suzhou.

Over the years, Suzhou has been making great efforts to adopt innovative government-guided and market-oriented development mechanisms and modes relying on technologies developed by universities and research institutions, aiming to promote industrialization and attract more parties to participate in local development.

Since the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan, Suzhou has launched cooperation with various education and research institutions in 13,566 projects, totally worth more than RMB 26 billion. The projects have greatly promoted the city’s industrial transformation and upgrading.
