SIP Chinese and Foreign Enterprises Christmas Gathering took place at Suzhou Culture and Arts Center last Friday evening. Hundreds of representatives from Chinese and foreign companies gathered together and enjoyed "Cinderella", a ballet created and performed by Suzhou Ballet Theatre (SBT), to welcome the arrival of Christmas.

Xu Huimin, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs and people from various circles of society for their support to the development of SIP.

Xu noted that the past year saw SIP do a good job in meeting expectations, lowering costs and optimizing services under the guidance of opening-up and innovation comprehensive experiment. He added that the companies in SIP also took the initiative to undergo transformation and upgrading and actively propel innovative development, which has shown the strong vitality of SIP's transformation and innovation development.

The representatives watched SBT's Cinderella. The ballet continues to use Prokofiev's music and incorporates modern techniques into choreography while highlighting the humor of dance drama, striking the audience as modern and fashionable.

Performed as the opening program at the 5th Suzhou Jinji Lake Art Festival in September, SBT's Cinderella seeks to make breakthroughs in plot, dance, background music and stage scenery while retaining the essence of the original work, and tries to add humor to it by "cross-gender performance". The beautiful stage and costume and graceful dancing all impressed the audience very much.
