SIP Celebrates 16th Anniversary with Sustained Growth by Transformation
China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) celebrated its 16th anniversary at SIPAC Building on May 26. As part of the celebrations, a group of projects held collectively the opening, agreement-signing, and plate-unveiling ceremonies. Eight hi-tech companies including Dinghan, CH Lighting, and Shenlong Aerospace Technology (SLA) opened for business. Several service providers including Taiwan Eslite Bookstore and Suning Appliance Logistic & Distribution Center signed contracts with SIP. And four local parks won the honorary titles of Jiangsu Province Innovation Park, Jiangsu Province SIP Energy-Saving & Environment-Protection Science Park, Jiangsu Province SIP Bio-Med Science Park, and Jiangsu Province SIP Converged Communications Technology Park at the collective plate-giving ceremony.

The eight companies opening for business specialize in the SIP-encouraged rising fields of Internet of Things, energy-saving and environment-protection, nano and VP, and bio-medical science. Several projects are market leaders and some create new record in the country. Dinghan Sensor Web Technology develops automatic sensor detector system and owns patented technology in the world.
Among four projects signed with SIP authorities, namely, Xingsheng PV, Suning, Suzhou Wusong River Inland Port, and Eslite Bookstore, the latter three are service providers. Eslite is a leading bookstore brand in Taiwan and this is the first cultural business complex in mainland China. The Project is located in CBD area of Hudong in SIP and expected to open for business in 2014. Suning distribution center is based at Weiting Town and will serve as the group's regional service head office. Suzhou Wusong River Inland Port plans to build a container dock for foreign trade and a dock for domestic production material trade at Shengpu section along the river.

Then, SIP, China-Singapore Ecological Science Hub, Suzhou International Science Park, and BioBay were respectively granted with the plates of Jiangsu Province Innovation Park, Jiangsu Province SIP Energy-Saving & Environment-Protection Science Park, Jiangsu Province SIP Converged Communications Technology Park, and Jiangsu Province SIP Bio-Med Science Park.
Mayor Yan Li of Suzhou congratulated SIP on the 16th anniversary and praised SIP for the outstanding achievements in economic transformation, technological upgrading, high-end talent recruitment and retention, and innovation-based development. He believed that the opening and inauguration of over 20 projects in rising sectors to be a good start and would lay a solid foundation for SIP's sustainable growth. He hoped that SIP would make more contributions to the city in building Suzhou into a pilot area featuring Scientific Outlook, innovation, and integrated urban and rural development as well as a city with high-end industries, beautiful ecological environment, and integrating historical culture and modern civilization.
