The 15th Samsung Insurance World Masters Baduk officially kicked off on September 8 in Jinji Lake Shilla Hotel, Suzhou Industrial Park, attended by top 32 I-go masters composed of 17 Koreans, 12 Chinese and 3 Japanese.

These 32 players include champions from the three countries, among whom the most popular are defending champion Kong Jie and his rival in the same group South Korea No.1 Lee Sedol. And the group match adopts double-elimination system. 

Kong Jie said, "Although I won a couple of games in China Weiqi League, I am not in a very good state to ensure my victory. Facing so many rivals, all I can say is to go all out to defend the champion." Unlike Kong Jie's modesty, Lee Sedol kept his confidence as usual when said, "My goal of every game is definitely to be the champion."
