Nanopolis Suzhou, a nanotech cluster in SIP, was full of festive air on Jan 18 as an event was going on there as a prelude to the Chinese Spring Festival which, reckoned on the first day of the first month on the Chinese lunar calendar, will fall on Feb 10 this year.
The event was part of SIP’s Spring Breeze Action which lasts about two months around the Spring Festival each year to enrich residents’ cultural experiences.
During the event, several calligraphy enthusiasts from around SIP wrote Spring Festival couplets for the participants to use as decorations for their homes during the Spring Festival holiday.
SIP Public Cultural Center gave digital cultural gift packs to the participants, and held a mini book exhibition.
The event also offered the participants chances to learn to make papercuts and lanterns which are also essential decorations for Spring Festival celebrations.
It is learned that events of similar kind will be held in enterprises, office buildings, grassroots service stations, commercial complexes and other places over the following two months.
