The Ligong Causeway in SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district was declared one of the “Select Beautiful Blocks” in Suzhou by the Urban Management Bureau of Suzhou recently.
Built in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908), the Ligong Causeway is the only structure of its kind in Jinji Lake, and the 1,400-meter Ligong Causeway tourism and leisure block is one of the most popular tourist destinations in SIP.
The beautiful landscape of the Ligong Causeway should be attributed to a series of measures for landscaping, traffic management and water environment improvement, and also the joint efforts of the local urban management authority, businesses and residents to curb litter, angling, disordered parking and other problems.
