Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZS) staged the last performance of its 2023-24 performance season on July 20, and unveiled the schedule for the 2024-25 performance season at the same time.
In the new performance season, the SZS will share the stage with a host of world-famous artists including Riccardo Muti, one of the world’s preeminent conductors.
Moreover, many Chinese artists, including Yu Ji, a conductor, and Zuo Zhang, a pianist, will join hands with the SZS to give wonderful performances.
It is worth mentioning that on the schedule are five concerts designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of SZS Music Director Chen Xieyang’s career as a conductor.
During the new performance season, classic works by about 70 Chinese and foreign composers will be performed. And the SZS will cooperate with artists engaged in other fields such as Bandoneon performers and tango dancers.
Additionally, a series of public performances and educational events will be held to increase the public’s understanding of classical music.
