The Jinxi Park in SIP’s Shengpu Sub-district was recently declared a sponge city building demonstration project by Suzhou Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau.
The park, with a land area of 1.87 hectares, was built based on the sponge city concept which means to develop urban areas that can absorb, clean and use rainfall in an eco-friendly way to improve water management and reduce flooding and drought.
The park boasts elaborately designed spaces and infrastructure which enable effective rainfall runoff management and rainwater recycling.
